The Apprentice 2016: Lord Sugar branded cringeworthy by Claude Littner

The Apprentice 2016 boss Lord Sugar has been branded "cringe" by aide Claude Littner.

He admitted to finding some of Lord Sugar's boardroom quips and one liners a bit, well, rubbish.

"I cringe a lot to be honest. Some are not great," Claude confessed to The Sun newspaper.

And Claude claimed that Lord Sugar even comes up with the lines he wants to use before filming.

He explained: “They are all his lines but I don’t think they are mostly spontaneous. I think he has thought them up before.

“He’s not so good at the innuendos but he does do those one-liners that some people seem to enjoy. I’m not so keen on them I must say.”

But Claude suggested that Lord Sugar's boardroom antics are one of the reasons why the show will be AXED if he ever leaves.

Claude said: “If Alan goes that’s the end of The Apprentice. With Nick Hewer leaving and me coming on it’s a transition. With Margaret Mountford going and Karren Brady coming on it was a transition.

“The only one who is absolutely critical to the whole thing is Alan. If he goes we’ve had it.”

The Apprentice 2016 airs Thursday nights on BBC One at 9PM.
