The Apprentice 2016 launched down almost a million viewers, according to overnight viewing figures.
The stats - which include only those who watched the show on the night - reveal 5.6 million tuned in last night.
That's down on 2015's 6.4 million and 2014's 6.7 million figure.
Over on BBC Two, spin-off show You're Fired returned with 1.5 million viewers.
The refreshed series, with its new host Rhod Gilbert, was down 400,000 viewers on 2015's opener.
One key thing to remember is that this year The Apprentice has switched days.
'Wednesday's are fired' and the show now airs on Thursday at 9PM, which may impact the viewing figures.
The Apprentice continues Thursday nights on BBC One at 9PM.
