The Apprentice 2013 ratings hit a series high this week, with over 7 million viewers.
It was the penultimate episode of the show as the final five became just two in the tough interview stages.
The average audience was up some 400,000 viewers week on week to a series high of 6.75 million viewers.
The show peaked with 7.1 million viewers, up almost 600,000 viewers on last year's equivalent episode.
The ninth series got off to a shaky start back in May, and some bizarre scheduling saw viewers fall to a low of 5.2 million viewers.
But the latest episodes have all seen figures over 6 million viewers, pulling up the average numbers for this year's ninth series.
BBC Two spin-off The Apprentice: You're Fired! has also seen some big ratings, with 2.35m for Wednesday night's 10PM.
Next week's final episode will air on Wednesday, at the earlier time of 8PM on BBC One.
Meanwhile, Big Brother continues to post stable if not impressive ratings, with 1.4 million watching the latest highlights.
