The Apprentice 2013 candidates are 'credible' this year, apparently

Lord Sugar (The Apprentice 2013)

The Apprentice 2013 candidates will be revealed this week, and they're said to be the "best yet".

The ninth series of the BBC One show starts on May 7, and producers reckon the line up of business wannabes will keep us all hooked.

But rather than some dubious choices, bosses have reportedly focused on picking credible candidates who have already seen success.

A source claimed today: “The line-up is strong this year. It’s not just show-offs, there are credible people who viewers will love.”

Among those battling for Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment are a stripping cupcake shop owner, a wannabe F1 facing driver and a former pro footballer.

While the candidates may be changing however, the usual ridiculous soundbites haven't.

In the first episode, we see former waiter Zeeshan Shah claim: “I’m a ‘great’ of my generation. I take inspiration from Napoleon — I am here to conquer.”

This year's series was filmed last October, meaning we already know quite a bit about the candidates and the show, including how two of the hopefuls end up hooking up during a task.

The pair - Luisa Zissman and Oxford studen Jordan Poulton - are still together now, The Sun newspaper reports today.
