Dawn French to judge on ITV1's Jesus Christ Superstar?

Comic Dawn French is set to become an unlikely judge on new ITV1 series Jesus Christ Superstar.

The Sun report that the actress is wanted by ITV bosses to join Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new talent show, which starts in the summer.

The reality series will search for a star to play the lead role in an arena adaption of Lord Andrew's famous musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

“Andrew is looking for the cream of British acting and showbiz stars for Superstar and Dawn has caught his eye," a source told the newspaper today. "She is outspoken, someone who connects with ordinary people and has years and years of experience.

“It’s early days but she is interested and they have been very taken with her in the initial conversations.”

Auditions and callbacks for the show took place earlier this year, with Jason Donovan and Spice Girl Mel C helping out to whittle down the wannabes.

The show will air in July, every night, for two weeks.

“The plan is to make it more like I’m A Celebrity, building up a head of steam at the end of the two weeks," an insider added.
