Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Bosses want Chris Evans

Strictly Come Dancing 2012 could see The One Show host Chris Evans take part, if bosses get their way.

Comic Chris is said to be on a "hitlist" of names that Beeb chiefs want for the new series of the show, which is due to start in September.

“Chris would be a brilliant signing," a source told The Sun today. "He is a TV legend and would bring his own brand of humour and charisma to the show, not to mention nine million Radio 2 fans and five million One Show fans.

“Nothing is confirmed yet but we have our fingers crossed.”

If Chris signs up it'd make him the third presenter of The One Show to take on the challenge, following in the footsteps of co-hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones.

And with both Matt and Alex having made it to the last week, it's sure to put pressure on Chris.

“Alex was worried about going on Strictly but loved every minute and has told Chris how much fun it was. The bosses hope her encouragement will swing it," the source explained.
