Eastenders star Sid Owen is being lined up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, it has been claimed today.
The Sun reports that the London action - who plays mechanic Ricky Butcher in the BBC One soap - is set to take to the dance floor this autumn.
And he’s not the only Eastenders star set to appear on Strictly, with actress Charlie Brooks being previously tipped to join the line up earlier this year.
“Sid has seen how many of his EastEnders colleagues have taken part in Strictly over the past few years and they’ve all loved it," a source told the newspaper today.
“People such as Kara Tointon, Jessie Wallace and Scott Maslen raved about the experience — as did Charlie when she took part in the Christmas special.
“So now he fancies trying it for himself.”
The friend added: “He did think about signing up for this year’s Dancing On Ice but the timing wasn’t right and he thought Strictly would be more fun.”
It wouldn't be Sid's first stint of reality telly, having finished third in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here seven years ago.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One in September.
