Strictly Come Dancing 2012 could see its first same sex couple this year, it has been claimed.
The Daily Star report that the new Strictly bosses want to continue their assault on The X Factor in the ratings with the UK telly first.
New Strictly professional Pasha Kovalev, who finished as runner up with Chelsee Healey on his first series last year, said he felt audiences were ready for it.
"I think if the audiences are ready for it then it’s a great thing to do," he told the tabloid today.
However it won't be the first for Strictly around the globe, with the Israeli edition of Strictly previously featuring a lesbian TV presenter performing with professional female dancer Dorit Milman in 2010.
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in the autumn.
