Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Karen Bruce favourite to replace Alesha Dixon

Karen Bruce is the new favourite to replace Alesha Dixon on Strictly Come Dancing, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have been flooded with bets on the choreographer of the Take That musical to fill the vacant spot on the judging panel, slashing Bruce's odds from 20/1 to the new 2/1 favourite.

2010 winner Kara Tointon is a popular bet with punters at 4/1 with professional dancer and commentator Karen Hardy priced at 5/1, however former judge Arlene Phillips has drifted out to 8/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "It's strictly the hottest vacancy up for grabs at the moment and Bruce has the expertise to join the judging panel.

"It doesn't look like Arlene will be back for good any time soon."

Strictly pro Ola Jordan is at 12/1, while former Strictly Come Dancing guest judge Jennifer Grey is at 16/1.

Other, rather optimistic bets are being taken on Russell Grant at 10/1 and Ann Widdecombe at 100/1.
