Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daly has suggest that the BBC should hire Alan Carr as a judge for this year's series.

The telly host told the Daily Star that the chat show host and stand up comic was her "No1" choice to replace Alesha Dixon, who moved to Britain's Got Talent last month.

“He was on my list for ultimate contestants and now he’s my No1 judge," the 42-year-old told the tabloid.

She added: “He makes me die laughing and would be amazing on the show.”

Other stars linked to the new role include previous professional dancer Karen Hardy, ex-Strictly runner up Rachel Stevens and even former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips.
