Strictly Come Dancing will miss Alesha Dixon, says Sir Bruce Forsyth

Strictly Come Dancing host Sir Bruce Forsyth has admitted that the show will miss having Alesha Dixon on the panel this year.

The former winner of the BBC One dancing competition, who joined the show as a judge in 2009, deflected to ITV1 this month to join Britain’s Got Talent.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Sir Brucie said: “We are going to miss Alesha like mad, we really are, but she deserves it, which is marvellous.”

But the 83-year-old telly presenter insisted there were no hard feelings after Alesha’s switch.

“Good luck to Alesha. This will do her much more good," he continued. "I think this will be the start of Alesha being a big star in this country.

“Of course I am upset but it’s show- business and she’s gone on to another level. How can you be upset by that?"

Meanwhile Alesha told the tabloid: “I don’t feel guilty at all. I just felt it was the right time to move on.

“I got lovely messages from everyone saying we are sad to see you go but we know this is a good move.

“Strictly will still hold a massive place in my heart. I love it and always will but this was just too good an opportunity to turn down.”
