Strictly Come Dancing 2011 contestant Robbie Savage has said he hopes that partner Ola Jordan's big fan base will help him win this year's show. Speaking to this week's ZOO magazine, Robbie also revealed how tired training was making him feeling - less than a week into it!
The 14 celebs have two more weeks of rehearsals before they perform for the first time at the end of the month.
Robbie, who discovered he was partnered with Ola on Saturday night’s launch show, told this week’s ZOO magazine: “Ola’s great and has a massive fanbase, which I hope helps me, as I’m going to need the extra support. The training started this week and she’s already working me really hard – but she needs to, as last Saturday was the first proper dance I’ve done.”
And on those gruelling training sessions, he said: “I never thought dancing would be as tiring as this. I was knackered after the first show and I was sweating buckets. The thing that gets me is the nerves – I can’t eat anything before performing because my tummy is in bits.”
Meanwhile, asked how he feels about his ever sparkly Strictly wardrobe, he replied: “I can’t wait to wear mad clothes. I don’t want to be boring and dull, so I think the more outrageous the better.
Speaking about his fellow contestants, Robbie revealed: “Russell Grant in particular is brilliant – he has us in stitches most of the time. I have to say that although he’s a big guy, he’s surprisingly light on his feet – he’s apparently lost 10 stone.”
