Zoe Ball has been revealed as the new host of Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two, bagging her first major presenting role for years. The 40-year-old will take over from a pregnant Claudia Winkleman on the BBC Two weekday spin-off, which starts alongside the main series this September.
Zoe, who previously took part as a celebrity in the series, beat Natasha Kaplinsky and Denise Van Outen for the job.
"I am quite literally beyond elated. There has been quite a hullabaloo at home with the news," Zoe said. “I’m giddy with glee and I may even have slipped into a celebratory cha-cha-cha, although technically not a very good one.
“I love everything Strictly – from watching the partnerships blossom and bloom to the tricky footwork, the frocks, the shock exits and, of course, the judges.”
She continued: “I will do my best to bring all the ups and downs and laughter and tears behind the nation’s favourite show to the fans.
“I can’t wait to start this thrilling adventure. Such fun!”
The show's producer Moira Ross added: “With Zoe’s first-hand experience of the series, she’s the perfect person to give viewers all the insider knowledge, gossip and news from this year’s show.”
