One piece of hit 1990s group Steps, Faye has also appeared in stage shows including Singin’ in the Rain and Over the Rainbow.

And already her CV has led to complaints about her ‘professional training’.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Few in the past have had quite so much professional performance time as Faye.

“Everyone expects her to be a strong contender but it will raise more questions over whether it’s fair for someone who has danced professionally to be up against people with no experience.”

Meanwhile, radio DJ and TV presenter Vick Hope is also said to have signed up to Strictly 2018.

Vick is a DJ on Capital FM and recently worked as digital host for The Voice UK.

According to The Sun, Vick is the first celebrity to be officially signed up for the 2018 Strictly cast.

A spokesperson for the BBC commented on the reports: “We do not comment on speculation. The line-up will be announced in due course.”

Other rumoured names Strictly Come Dancing bosses could sign this year include TV personality Anneka Rice, football pundit Chris Kamara and Radio DJ Maya Jama.
