BBC bosses apparently want Union J star Josh Cuthbert to take part in Celebrity MasterChef before he joins Strictly Come Dancing.
Recent reports claimed that Strictly bosses want Josh for its next series, believing he’d be a “strong signing”.
However, it may not be the only reality show he appears on in the coming months.
According to The Sun, Josh is being targeted for Celebrity MasterChef in a bid to attract more female viewers to the cooking contest.
Beeb bosses also see it as an opportunity to introduce Josh to new audience before he takes to the dancefloor.
“BBC casting agents think it’s a great shout to soft-launch Josh to viewers on a mainstream show like MasterChef ahead of a possible Strictly stint,” a source told the newspaper.
“It means that housewives will be familiar with him too as well as younger music fans.”
Josh wouldn’t be the first famous face to end up on both shows in the same year.
“Debbie McGee did the MasterChef and Strictly double last year, and they hope he will too,” the mole added.
Josh rose to fame as a member of boyband Union J when they competed on The X Factor in 2012.
After finishing in fourth place, the group released two albums and four top ten singles.
Meanwhile, The Sun claims that former Strictly finalist Frankie Bridge is another potential MasterChef contestant.
In December, the Saturdays star pledged: “I think in 2018, I’m finally going to learn how to cook!”
Both Celebrity MasterChef and Strictly Come Dancing are due to return to BBC One this autumn.
