Tonight Strictly hit Week 9 of the competition and for one week only, the show packed its sparkly suitcases and relocated to Blackpool.

The main show kicked off with a grand group performance fit to fill the massive Tower ballroom.

The stakes were high as the celebrities and their professional partners were feeling the pressure as the Glitter Ball trophy is in sight and the Grand Final now only a month away.

Once again deciding who was on top form this evening were judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who scored the ten remaining celebrity couples.

It was Alexandra Burke who was on top of the leaderboard with a near perfect 39 points for her Quickstep.

Also doing well at Blackpool were Gemma Atkinson, who had 38 points for her American Smooth, and Davood Ghadami who scored 35 with a Paso Doble.

It’d be a shock for any of the trio to be in the bottom two come Sunday’s dance off.

At the other end, those in danger are Susan Calman and Jonnie Peacock who were left bottom of the leaderboard.

Jonnie, who was in the dance off last week, has been installed as the favourite to go.

But with Aston’s exit still in our minds, anything can happen…

As always, the judges’ scores will be combined with the viewer vote to determine the overall scoreboard for the weekend.

The two celebrity couples in the bottom two of the overall rankings will find themselves having to dance again in tomorrow night’s (Sunday) latest results show.
