Aston Merrygold has been installed as the early favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2017.
The new series doesn't start until next month but with the Strictly Come Dancing cast confirmed, punters are already getting behind their favourites.
Aston Merrygold has waltzed his way to the top of the betting after a flood of early bets. The JLS star is 11/4 and our red hot favourite to be crowned this year’s winner. The former X Factor star is no stranger to dance shows and even worked as a judge on Sky 1 talent show Got to Dance, which has prompted an avalanche of early support.
Aston is in good company with previous X Factor alumna Alexandra Burke, who is 5/1 to walk away with the glitter ball trophy. The ‘Bad Boys’ singer is also known for her energetic live performances and could be a major contender this year.
Former Saturday’s star Mollie King is 9/2 second favourite, after she was the first celeb revealed for the upcoming show. King has also had dance training and will be stiff competition for both of the X Factor stars.
Also confirmed for Strictly 2017 is Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson (6/1), Eastenders star Davood Ghadami (10/1), newsreader Charlotte Hawkins (14/1) and magician’s assistant Debbie McGee (25/1).
Yasmin Leonard, spokesperson for BoyleSports said, “Two weeks before Strictly Come Dancing 2017 has even started there is already a clear favourite to win. Punters immediately got behind JLS star Aston Merrygold and he quickly became red hot favourite at 11/4 to win the show.”
She continued “However, Alexandra Burke and Molly King have also received strong support and may be serious contenders for the glitter ball trophy this year.”
