The fourth and latest Strictly Come Dancing 2017 celebrity contestant has been confirmed today.
And it's Gemma Atkinson who has joined the official line up.
Actress Gemma has first rose to fame in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks before moving to BBC One's Casualty and later ITV's Emmerdale, where she was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the National Television Awards last year.
“I am honoured to be asked and so thrilled to be joining Strictly Come Dancing 2017!” said Gemma today.
She added: “I'm beyond excited and incredibly nervous but I am looking forward to learning a new skill in ballroom and latin dancing and taking on this new challenge.”
Gemma is the fourth celebrity to be confirmed for this year's Strictly Come Dancing cast.
Yesterday TV presenter Ruth Langsford became the third name to be announced for the show. The host of ITV's This Morning and regular Loose Women panellist Ruth said, “I have dreamt about doing Strictly for so long, I can't quite believe my dream has come true! The sum of my dance experience is throwing a few shapes at a party, I've never had a dance lesson in my life.
On Monday, Mollie King became the very first name officially confirmed for the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 cast The Saturdays' star confirmed the news live on BBC Radio 1's Breakfast show with Nick Grimshaw.
Mollie said: “I'm a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing so I can't actually believe I'm lucky enough to be taking part in it this year! It’s going to be a lot of hard work but I'm ready for the challenge.”
Actor Davood Ghadami became the next name to be revealed on the Strictly line up by the BBC. Best known for his role as Kush Kazemi in EastEnders, Davood said, “Having the opportunity to take part in this year’s Strictly is such an honour.
"It’s going to be exciting, challenging and terrifying all at once and I am so looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and learning to dance. See you under the Glitterball!"
More celebs will be announced daily up until the launch show next month.
Alongside those confirmed, rumoured celebs for the new series include comic Brian Conley, Dame Joan Collins, Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker, Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock and footballer Frank Lampard.
There's also X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, Robot Wars host Angela Scanlon, Bros singer Matt Goss, comic Joel Dommett and marathon runner Paula Radcliffe.
