It was announced that Will had quit Strictly Come Dancing back in October last year, pulling out just four weeks into the live shows.
A spokesperson for the BBC announced at the time: "Due to personal reasons, Will Young has decided to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing. The show fully respects his decision and wishes him all the best for the future."
Will said in his own statement: "To be a part of Strictly has been a long time ambition of mine. As a performer, a viewer, and a fan of the show, to dance as a contestant was an experience I always hoped for.
"I have made some great friends, and am in awe of their performances week in, week out. I have found a creative partnership with Karen that has been the most wonderful thing to experience."
He continued: "Unfortunately, I am leaving the show for personal reasons. I leave with joy in my heart that I have been able to take part in one of the most loved shows on British television."
Will's exit followed a tense on air clash with Strictly judge Len but it seems as though the pair have now made up.
According to The Sun newspaper, Will made a surprise secret stop by at the Strictly tour this week to meet the judges, acts and crew.
A source told the newspaper: “Will decided to make a little visit down to the tour but didn’t want to make too much of a fuss about it.
“He joined the cast back at The Lowry Hotel after the show and was spotted laughing and joking with Len by the lifts. They shook hands and made up.”
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One later this year.
