The two soap stars, who both appeared in Channel 4's Hollyoaks' are engaged and plan to get married next year.
But those plans could be put on hold if Carley gets the chance to follow in Danny's footsteps and join the show.
She teased earlier this year: "If I was ever lucky enough to be asked, I would [say yes] just to wear the dresses!
"I'd say 'You can turn the cameras off and just let me wear the dresses!'"
Now according to The Sun newspaper, Carley's wish could well come true.
A source claimed to the newspaper that talks have been scheduled in the new year between Carley and Strictly bosses.
The insider claimed: “Both parties have arranged to speak in the new year about making her desire to follow Danny’s sensational footsteps in this year’s series.”
The source added: “Danny and Carley are a perfect couple and completely dedicated to each other.
"It’s amazing that after Carley has been by his side all the way to the final Danny could well be doing the same for her next year.”
Speaking to OK! magazine last month, Carley said she was "proud to be watching Danny."
The actress gushed: "I'm very proud. I knew he'd be good, but I didn't realise he'd be that good!
"He's really dedicated. He's even doing it while I'm getting in bed."
And while her boyfriend is the favourite to win, Carley says Danny isn't really worried about the glitterball.
"He just wants to stay in every week. Whether he wins or not doesn't matter, as long as he's stayed in for as long as he can," she explained.
The Strictly 2016 final airs this Saturday night on BBC One.
