Strictly Come Dancing wins ratings war over X Factor and I'm A Celebrity

Strictly Come Dancing 2016 topped last night's TV ratings once again with big numbers.

An average audience of more than 10 million tuned in to the live Quarter Finals, making it the most watched show of Saturday.

The musicals themed episode saw 10.4 million viewers tune in - the same figure as last year and up 200,000 on last Saturday - with a peak audience reaching 11.2 million viewers.

Over on ITV, The X Factor avoided a clash with Strictly for the first time this year as it hosted its semi-finals.

An average audience of 5.8 million tuned in for the penultimate live performance show, down a million viewers on last year but up 100,000 week-on-week.

While X Factor didn't clash with Strictly this weekend it did go up against Michael McIntyre's Big Show on BBC One which is proving a strong ratings hit, rising 200,000 viewers week-on-week to a series high of 6 million viewers.

Meanwhile, later on in the evening, the penultimate I'm A Celebrity interested 7.7 million viewers from 9:30PM, the same rating as last year's equivalent showing.

The latest live show saw the finalists confirmed as another celeb was eliminated ahead of the final tonight.

I'm A Celebrity airs this evening at 9PM on ITV with The X Factor at 8PM while Strictly's results are on BBC One at 7:15PM.
