Len Goodman will bow out of Strictly Come Dancing 2016 with a very special dance routine at Christmas

Len confirmed earlier this year that the 2016 series of Strictly would be his last on British TV.

Len said: “In 2004, I was asked to take part in a brand new BBC Saturday night show and who would have thought me, old Len Goodman, would still be part of this amazing series more than 10 years on.

"This adventure began when I was 60 and now that I’ve reached my 70s, I’ve decided after this year it’s time to hand the role of Head Judge to someone else."

He added: "It is an honour being part of the wonderful Strictly Come Dancing family and I’m looking forward to my last series very much and to whatever comes next.”

His final episode of the show will be this year's Christmas special on Christmas day.

Six former celebrity contestants will be back for the one-off festive episode this year.

Popstar Frankie Bridge, who made the finals in 2014, will be joined by Olympian and presenter Denise Lewis, TV presenter Gethin Jones, Writer and actress Pamela Stephenson, Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott and Radio and TV host Melvin Odoom.

Of course the Strictly Christmas Special wouldn’t be complete without the festive foursome of Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and in his last appearance on the judging panel Len who will all be on hand to bring some joy and festive cheer.

Reportedly, Len will dance his way out of the show as part of a spectacular group performance.

The Strictly Come Dancing special will air Christmas Day on BBC One at 6:45PM.
