Sir Bruce Forsyth won't appear on this year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, it has been revealed.
Details about the new festive special were confirmed last month, with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced as hosts
But now it's been further reported that Sir Bruce won't be making any appearance at all, unlike his video message in last year's show.
TV legend Sir Bruce stepped down from the main show in 2013 but had been due to continue fronting the annual specials.
However a fall in late 2015 saw him forced to pull out of last year's Christmas special and he's yet to return to our screens.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Last year the Strictly message was recorded in December, there are no plans to do one this year.
“It doesn’t seem right at this point. He needs a bit of peace and quiet to get on with getting better.
"How long that will take we don’t know, but he is still having great conversations, and is working with a physio. People need to remember he is 89 in February.”
Six former celebrity contestants will be back for the one-off Strictly festive special on Christmas Day.
Popstar Frankie Bridge, who made the finals in 2014, will be joined by Olympian and presenter Denise Lewis, TV presenter Gethin Jones, Writer and actress Pamela Stephenson, Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott and Radio and TV host Melvin Odoom.
"I can't wait!" she said of signing up for the festive one off, "Any excuse for me to get involved and back in the sequins I'm there!"
Of course the Strictly Christmas Special wouldn’t be complete without the festive foursome of Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and in his last appearance on the judging panel Len Goodman who will all be on hand to bring some joy and festive cheer.
The icing on top of the Christmas cake will be a spectacular music performance, details of which will be announced in due course.
The Strictly Come Dancing special will air Christmas Day on BBC One at 6:45PM.
