Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Ed Balls teases Rumba that was meant to be

Ed Balls has teased fans with a video of what would have been his next Strictly performance.

The politician left Strictly Come Dancing 2016 in last night's latest results after 10 weeks.

The pair were in the bottom two dance off with Judge Rinder and Oksana Platero after the latest judges' scores and viewer votes were combined.

It was the first time in the dance off for both as the judges voted unanimously to save Judge Rinder and send Ed home.

Now Ed has revealed that he was set to perform the Rumba had he made it through to next Saturday.

And while we won't get to see it in full, he posted a clip of the planned routine on Twitter today.

"We were going to do a @bbcstrictly rumba next week to Shirley Bassey's 'This Is My Life - it's probably best left to the imagination!" Ed captioned the tweet.

Talking to Tess about his Strictly experience in last night's show, Ed said: “If people watching have had half the fun I’ve had learning to dance with Katya then they must have had a complete blast because it’s been such a fabulous thing.

"The judges, all the supporters, the make-up team, the wardrobe, in particular that band are the best in the world. It’s just wonderful."

He continued: "But above all the only reason we have been able to learn and to entertain is because of Katya, and it’s her first series. She is going to go on to be a total dynamite, knock-out Strictly star, she is just the best there is. Absolutely amazing. She is utterly brilliant.

"And to all the people who have kept me in this long, thank you very much I’m very grateful, I’ve had a wonderful time.”

However it may not be the last of Ed, with rumours he's set to sign up for the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

But for now, the remaining five couples will return to the dancefloor in a Musicals themed quarter final of the competition on Saturday 3rd December at 7PM.

Then on Sunday 4th December at 7.20pm on BBC One one more celebrity will leave the competition in the latest results show.
