Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Judge Rinder hits back at Twitter trolls

Strictly Come Dancing's Judge Rinder has hit back at trolls who have targeted him online.

It's not just Craig Revel Horwood who has been poking fun at Judge Rinder's facial expressions, but he's taking the comments in his stride.

Judge Rinder said of battling online abuse: "Oh yes, poor darlings, they’re quite sweet.

"Anyone who has residual energy to write something hateful, well, poor them. Happy people with happy lives don’t feel the need to do that.

"People were calling me a ‘Bobfoc’. Body off Baywatch, face off Crimewatch. That made me laugh. But I don’t feel the need to respond unless the spelling is terrible."

And on THAT body, Judge Rinder revealed to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Here’s the thing. I didn’t get physically prepared for Strictly. I’ve been doing marathons and triathlons and going to Boot Camp every day since I was in my late 20s.

"You’d have thought being fit would help with dancing but its a totally different kind of fitness. I’m walking round like a slightly twinklier version of John Wayne. It’s terrible."

Not that Judge Rinder seems to need it, but he went on to reveal that the other Strictly contestants are always there for one another if any of them needs support.

"We’ve got a lovely Whatsapp group. It’s a singularly unusual thing to be a part of, and the only other people who have an intuitive sense of what it’s like are the other contestants," Rinder explained. "I called one of my oldest friends the other day and said "I tell you what, this jive isn’t going well and my leg hurts'

"And he said 'I’ve been up all night with my kids and now I’m working on a case where we have to determine who the legitimate government of Libya is.'"

Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One this Saturday and Sunday night with the latest live show.
