Ed Balls is now the third favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2016.

The politician was quite literally on fire at Blackpool this weekend and tonight avoided the dance off again in the results.

His Jive placed him bottom of the judges' scores once more but it was Greg Rutherford who went home after facing Claudia Fragapane in the dance off.

Ed's odds of winning the show have now been cut, making him the third favourite to win.

The political heavyweight entered the ballroom as a 100/1 no-hoper with the bookies, but punters have fallen in love with him and following his jive in Blackpool his odds of lifting the Glitterball trophy have been cut again into just 8/1.

However he's got some stiff competition to overcome.

Danny Mac's grip on the top spot remains firm as his odds are trimmed into even money, with Louise Redknapp occupying second spot at 9/4.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Ed winning Strictly would be the biggest upset since David beat Goliath.

"He might not be the best dancer, however, both viewers and punters have joined him on his journey and it's not out of the realms of possibility the underdog emerges victorious this year."

Strictly Come Dancing 2016 is back next Saturday and Sunday night with the latest dances plus a new Cha Cha Challenge.
