Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Danny Mac says being the favourite makes it harder

Danny Mac reckons being the favourite on Strictly Come Dancing makes it harder.

The Hollyoaks hunk is the tip to win this year's series but he's told punters NOT to bet on him.

Despite his high scores - topping the leaderboard again on Saturday - Danny said: “Don’t bet on me. I don’t think I’m the favourite.

"Everyone else has upped their game and it’s a very level contest."

And he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Any claim of being favourite has actually made things even harder.

"It keeps the pressure on but no one puts more on me than Oti anyway. She’s unbelievable.”

So who does Danny think could win?

Well, after making it as far as Blackpool, Ed Balls could really be in with a shot according to Danny.

The soap star said: “He’s just a great dancer. He’s so much fun.

“I love watching him. He’s one of my favourite guys on the show. He’s probably the person whose dance I will watch the most. I see all his rehearsals.

“It’s so entertaining. You aren’t laughing at him, you enjoy it with him.”

Last night's Strictly results saw Danny sail through the Blackpool special next Saturday as Daisy Lowe got the axe.

Strictly Come Dancing 2016 is back live on BBC One this Saturday and Sunday night.
