Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Anastacia gets cosy with new pro partner Gorka Marquez

Strictly Come Dancing's Anastacia has a brand new pro partner this week.

A poorly Brendan Cole revealed on Tuesday how fellow pro Gorka Marquez had taken up his role with celebrity partner Anastacia this week.

It's after Brendan was taken to hospital at the weekend with a chest infection.

Gorka had originally been partnered with Tameka Empson but the pair were eliminated a week ago now.

"I dunno how happy I am about it," Brendan joked about the whole thing on It Takes Two, "He's Spanish, he's good looking, he's got a body that's pretty much the best on the show."

Anastacia cheekily winked at the cameras: "It was awful today, I had an awful rehearsal."

In a pic from training yesterday, Anastacia showed just how 'bad' things were as she cosied up to Gorka.

The official BBC Strictly Twitter account posted the snap with the caption: "Seems like a fair exchange of skills here. Anastacia learns the Quickstep while Gorka standing in for Brendan gets to perfect his pout."

While Anastacia is dancing with Gorka, Brendan is still choreographing the pair's routine.

Brendan said yesterday he was hoping to be well enough to take back over from Gorka tomorrow (Friday).

The performer wrote on his website: "After suffering a pneumonia in February, I guess my lungs were not up to full strength so my immune system wasn't quite ready to deal with what would normally be an innocuous cough."

Brendan said he was told to rest for the week in order to get better for Saturday's show.

"Fingers crossed all will be OK as I am feeling a little better today finally," he added.

Strictly Come Dancing is back this Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.
