Ill Brendan Cole has been replaced by Gorka Marquez on Strictly Come Dancing 2016.

It's after Brendan was taken to hospital at the weekend with a chest infection.

Although Brendan did perform with celeb partner Anastacia on the show on Saturday, his fellow pro dancer Gorka has been rehearsing with the US singer in training this week.

Gorka had originally been partnered with Tameka Empson but the pair were eliminated a week ago now.

"I dunno how happy I am about it," Brendan joked about the whole thing on It Takes Two, "He's Spanish, he's good looking, he's got a body that's pretty much the best on the show."

Anastacia cheekily winked at the cameras: "It was awful today, I had an awful rehearsal."

While Anastacia is dancing with Gorka, Brendan is still choreographing the pair's routine.

He told Zoe Ball on It Takes Two that he's set to visit doctors on Thursday or Friday to see if he's fit enough to take back over from Gorka for Saturday's live show.

Brendan revealed: "I've been a bit poorly, I've got a little chest infection going on.

"I just want to say, the reports of me clutching my chest [on Saturday's show], I was actually holding my microphone so I didn't cough down it."

After Brendan and Anastacia's dance at the weekend the pair found themselves in the bottom two for the second time.

But it seems they both didn't actually mind being there.

Brendan said: "I like the dance off in a weird way. Once you get voted into it, it's fight or flight mode and you lift. You either want to stay or go and I like the feeling it gives you, once you're in it, not getting into it.

"You do not want to leave, knowing you could do more."

Anastacia added: "I thought I may have looked a little excited to be in the bottom at first, but it was because I didn't get to dance off in the last bottom two and I felt so guilty about that for weeks now.

"I didn't love being in the bottom but at the same time I was 'I can dance, it's fine!'

Strictly Come Dancing is back this Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.
