It was confirmed that Will had quit Strictly Come Dancing Tuesday evening, citing personal reasons.
"Due to personal reasons, Will Young has decided to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing," said a spokesperson for the show. "The show fully respects his decision and wishes him all the best for the future."
In his own statement, Will didn't elaborate on the reasons behind his exit, saying he left "for personal reasons."
Why did Will leave Strictly Come Dancing 2016?
Now The Sun newspaper suggest that Will walked away simply 'because he couldn't win'.
A source alleged the tabloid: "It became obvious that despite his huge dance background he was never going to be a contender because there are so many better celebs.
“The few previous contestants to go have quit because they’re injured or a family member has died – not because they feel they can’t win.”
The insider went on to claim: “Whenever he takes on a challenge he wants to win. But this time he was out of his depth.”
Will has yet to respond to the latest reports but did speak out yesterday following speculation over his departure.
He told BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Chris Evans: "Here's the thing. I'm absolutely dandy, thanks. It's all very undramatic, really.
"I've done my statement and others can say what they want to say. I never read what they say anyway."
Whatever the reasons for Will's sharp exit from the competition, it's set to cost him.
According to reports, Will will lose £20,000 off his fee after pulling out midway through the contest.
Strictly Come Dancing 2016 is back this Saturday and Sunday night.
Despite the unplanned exit, there will still be another elimination at the end of the weekend.
