Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Danny Mac looks unstoppable as favourite to win

Danny Mac remains the favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2016.

Danny was once again on top of the Strictly Come Dancing leaderbaord at the weekend and he's looking unstoppable.

His efforts have most certainly not gone unnoticed by eager punters who have backed the ex Hollyoaks hunk further as the favourite to win and his odds are now red hot at 6/4 from 2/1.

Louise Redknapp remains in Danny’s shadow, but has also been cut for the Glitterball trophy as she is now the 7/2 second favourite from 9/2.

Claudia Fragapane and Greg Rutherford are beginning to stake their claim for the title as both Olympic athletes have seen their odds slashed. Claudia is now on offer at 6/1 from 9/1 after her Charleston saw her share the top spot in the leaderboard with Danny Mac. Greg Rutherford claimed third place for his American Smooth and was cut into 9/1 form 12/1.

On the other hand, Laura Whitmore has felt the sting of featuring in the dance off on Sunday as she drifts out to 25/1 from 12/1 to win, placing her amongst the outsiders to take the trophy.

Aoife Heffron from BoyleSports said today: “Danny Mac has been topping the leaderboard since day one and will be hard to beat. Punters continue to heavily back the actor to win and he is now a clear favourite at 6/4 from 2/1.”

She added: “Unfortunately for Laura Whitmore her stint in the dance off has had a detrimental impact on her odds of winning as she drifts all the way out to 25/1 from 12/1.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2016 is back this Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.
