Anastacia has revealed she feels "guilty" over last week's Strictly Come Dancing results.

It was a controversial first week for the show last Sunday night as the first celebrity went home.

Melvin Odoom and Janette Manrara were in the bottom two with Anastacia and her pro partner Brendan. Due to an injury, Anastacia couldn't take part in the dance off.

As a result, there was no dance off and Melvin went home based on viewer votes alone.

Not everyone agreed with the decision and Anastacia has now opened up about her feelings on it.

She told The Sun newspaper how she worried about having to have more surgery after suffering her injury in training.

“I feared I’d be going home and getting surgery," Anastacia explained.

She insisted of missing the dance off: "There was no diva in the room, just a really scared girl.”

The singer added to the tabloid: “I thought it was my fault Melvin was going home. I felt so guilty.”

In last night's show we saw Anastacia visit her specialist where she was given the all clear to keep dancing.

Anastacia went on to dance the Viennese Waltz with partner Brendan Cole to A Thousand Years from Twilight as part of the weekend's Movies theme.

Anastacia said: “The song is a cuddle and I really needed one.”

But despite the beautiful performance, the judges' marks left Anastacia at the bottom end of the scores and in danger of leaving tonight.

Strictly Come Dacing 2016's results air this evening on BBC One from 7:15PM.
