Anastacia and her professional partner Brendan Cole and Kiss FM DJ Melvin Odoom and Janette Manrara were in the bottom two Sunday evening.
Once the judges' marks from Weeks 1 and 2 were combined with the viewer vote, the couples found themselves facing the dance off.
However an Anastacia couldn't perform due to an injury around her chest.
Therefore the result went back to the public poll and with the fewest votes, it was Melvin who left Strictly on Sunday night.
Speaking on It Takes Two tonight, Anastacia said: "I'm feeling great, it feels like its been two weeks since Saturday but I'm feeling good."
She said of missing the dance-off: "I didn't want to have to injure myself, you just don't know what to do.
"I totally thought I was going to go. It was just the worse. I wanted [Melvin] to go through as I couldn't dance."
Brendan described the situation as a "worst case scenario" after the pair were forced to change their main routine on Saturday.
Anastacia reflected: "The judges comments were spot on, there was no movement in my lower body and I didn't realise it because I was so worried about my upper."
This week is Movies night and Anastacia and Brendan will be dancing the Viennese Waltz to 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri from the Twilight Saga.
And it's apparently the perfect dance for Anastacia.
"This dance was made for my injury!" she laughed on BBC Two.
Brendan revealed: "If we go forward there are dances we'd have to adapt but this isn't one of them it's a really soft, nice one."
Strictly is back live this Saturday night on BBC One from 6:45PM.
