Judge Rinder to WIN Strictly Come Dancing 2016?

Strictly Come Dancing 2016 - Couples

Judge Robert Rinder has emerged as a surprise contender to win this year's Strictly, say bookies Ladbrokes.

Following his crowd-pleasing cha cha in last night's first live show, bookies have slashed his odds to just 6/1 (from 10/1), making him the third favourite to win the show.

Rinder started life in Strictly as a 25/1 outsider, but has seen his odds tumble in a matter of days leaving him among the most popular dancers this year.

Judge Rinder's performance was the talk of the show, even if the judges' marks didn't place it top of the leaderboard.

Darcey Bussell reacted: “It was extraordinary, that was the wildest surprise I think I've ever had!"

And Len Goodman quipped: "If entertainment is a crime then you’re guilty”."

Ahead of the second half of this weekend's live two-parter, where the remaining nine contestants will perform, singer Will Young remains the favourite at 11/4 with Olympian Claudia Fragapane next at 5/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said today: "Strictly fans have made their judgement and it's a majority verdict for Rinder. He started life as an outsider but has quickly emerged as one of the likely winners for this series."
