In this first look from training we see the BBC sports presenter seeming to struggle on his first day, although pro partner Joanne reckons he's doing fine.
"The really hard thing was the fact we were starting from scratch. I had no idea what even the tango was, let alone the dance we were going to perform, it was slow, it was like grinding gears," Ore says in the clip.
He continues: "Steps, counting, memory, show, performance... all of the things in that wonderful potion, it will taste brilliant but right now we're missing a few ingredients."
Joanne however is more optimistic.
She tells cameras: "He had a few blanks... but I think that's quite normal for the amount of steps I've thrown at him today."
Saying Ore had been "brilliant" on his first day of training, Joanne added: "The word proud can't even describe how I'm feeling right now."
Joanne and Ore's first dance together is now just days away with this year's Strictly Come Dancing live shows starting next week on BBC One in two parts, first on Friday, September 23 and then on Saturday, September 24.
The couples will be split across the two shows with six couples dancing on Friday and the remaining nine on Saturday although the line up on each show has not yet been confirmed.
While - as usual - there will be no elimination in week one, the marks from the judges for the first dances will carry forward and help determine which two couples will be in the bottom dance off in Week 2.
