Olly Murs to open Strictly Come Dancing launch show after X Factor axe

Olly Murs will open up Strictly Come Dancing 2016, it's been revealed.

He'll be performing on the BBC One show's launch episode next month on Saturday, September 3.

Olly, who was co-host of The X Factor last year alongside former Strictly winner Caroline Flack, will be performing new song You Don't Know Love on the pre-recorded opening show.

"Yep yep that's righttttt!! I'll be performing #YDKL for the 1st time on @bbcstrictly launch night 3rd September!!" Olly tweeted.

And he'll be joined by fellow X Factor alumni Rebecca Ferguson who will also be singing.

The launch show will see us introduced to this year's all star celebrity cast before they're paired up with a pro partner for the series.

So far 10 celebs have been confirmed for the Strictly 2016 line up: Singer Anastacia, BBC Breakfast Presenter Naga Munchetty, model Daisy Lowe, Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, singer Louise Redknapp, Kiss FM DJ Melvin Odoom, former politician Ed Balls, singer Will Young, TV presenter Laura Whitmore and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.

A total of 15 celebrity contestants will be taking part in the show with the live episodes beginning in October time.
