Tim Peake for Strictly Come Dancing? Astronaut 'top of BBC wish list'

British astronaut Tim Peake has been tipped to join Strictly Come Dancing.

The spaceman, who recently landed back on Earth after six months at the International Space Station, is said to be top of the BBC's wish list of stars.

An insider told The Sun newspaper today: “He was obviously huge this year and would be a dream signing."

However if Tim does ever appear on Strictly it's unlikely we'll see him on the line up this autumn as
the effect of living in zero gravity will have weakened Tim's muscles and bones.

The source added: "Considering the man is on something like a two-year rehab to get walking properly, we might have to wait until next year to see him do the paso doble.”

Yesterday morning saw the very first celebrity CONFIRMED by the BBC for the new series, which begins next month on BBC One.

Rumoured celebs include ITV's Judge Rinder, singer Anastacia, Corrie's Ryan Thomas, model Daisy Lowe, Pop Idol singer Will Young, Eternal's Louise Redknapp, former I'm A Celebrity host Laura Whitmore and butler to the late Princess Diana, Paul Burrell.

Strictly Come Dancing starts in September on BBC One.
