Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Will Young rumoured to join this year's line up

Singer Will Young has been tipped for Strictly Come Dancing 2016.

The Pop Idol winner has become the latest celebrity linked to this year's line up as rumours about the upcoming series intensify.

According to the Daily Star, show bosses hope fiery Will won't hold back when it comes to facing the judges following his past spats with Simon Cowell

A source said told the newspaper this week: “Will is a brilliant signing for us. He is extremely popular, he is a true professional, he can be quite competitive and he is no shrinking violet.

“He famously put Simon Cowell in his place on Pop Idol when he slated his performance and called it 'average'."

The insider added: "We cannot imagine he will hold his tongue when facing the wrath of judge Craig Revel Horwood.”

Meanwhile another possible pair of celebs for the show have been revealed in the form of Gogglebox's Steph and Dom Parker.

"I wouldn't mind doing Strictly," Dom told the Daily Star. "I'm not one for the jungle and I'm not one for being incarcerated in a box for six weeks. We take every day one day at a time."

"I quite like the idea of beating him at something," Steph added.

Other rumoured celebrity contestants for the line up this year include singer Anastacia, ITV's Judge Rinder, Corrie's Ryan Thomas, TV presenter couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, former I'm A Celebrity host Laura Whitmore, butler to the late Princess Diana Paul Burrell and Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood.

Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One later this year.
