Paul Burrell is reportedly being lined up to appear on the Strictly Come Dancing 2016 cast.
The former butler to Princess Diana has apparently been having secret meetings with show bosses.
A show source told the Daily Star on Sunday this weekend: “Paul has been keen to do Strictly for years because he loves watching it. He’s now made the final shortlist of star names so he’s thrilled.
“The line-up is finalised around July each year, but it’s pretty much a done deal.”
Paul is quoted by the newspaper as teasing of the rumours: “Let’s just say you could be seeing a whole lot more of me this year.”
He added that taking part in Strictly would be a “wonderful experience” and would jump at the chance to compete.
Other rumoured celebs for the line up this year include Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, TV presenter couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, singer Anastacia, former I'm A Celebrity host Laura Whitmore and Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood.
“Producers want to make sure they get the right mix. The show has been a success in recent years so there is a lot of pressure to get it right," a Strictly insider said.
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in the autumn.
