Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery is said to be set to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing 2016's line up.
The actress has apparently been on show bosses' wish list for years but her appearances on ITV's drama left her unable to compete.
However Downton Abbey is now over and producers are reportedly keen to get Michelle on this year's line up of celebrity contestants.
"Strictly bosses have been trying to get her on the show for year," a source said today. "But she’s always been tied down to ITV because she was in a contract with them, and filming with Downton would always overlap with Strictly."
The insider added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Now she’s not working for ITV they’ve pounced on her. They know she could be a star attraction."
The tabloid quotes Michelle as previously saying of joining Strictly Come Dancing: “I’d actually quite like to do that. I’m a dancer, so that’s my thing.”
The new series of Strictly will air on BBC One in the autumn with the first names expected to be confirmed around August time.
Other rumoured celebs for the line up this year are TV presenter couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, singer Anastacia, former I'm A Celebrity host Laura Whitmore and Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood.
