Torchwood star John Barrowman is said to be planning on challenging Vernon Kay to present the new series of Strictly Come Dancing later this year, according to tabloid reports. The Sun claims that all singing and dancing star Barrowman is now tipped to take over from Brucie this year.
According to the tabloid, Strictly fan John - who has the same agent as judge Craig Revel Horwood - is hoping his experience will give him the opportunity to host the show. A source told the paper: "John knows Vern's a strong contender but thinks his music and theatre background can swing it."
The news will come as a big blow to Vernon Kay, who scrapped his ITV deal last month in the hopes of getting the gig on the hit BBC One reality series.
Despite all the plans for a new presenter however, Bruce Forsyth - who turns 83 later this month - has yet to even announce that he'll be retiring from the programme.
