Strictly Come Dancing

BBC bosses are said to want TV presenter Vernon Kay to front the new series of Strictly Come Dancing next year, according to tabloid reports. The News Of The World claim the beeb want Vernon, who currently hosts ITV1's All Star Family Fortunes, to present the show along his other half Tess Daly.

A 'senior' BBC source told the publication on Sunday: "Tess and Vernon is our dream line-up. It would completely refresh the show.

"They're young, good looking and there's obvious chemistry. We're desperate to get Vern."

TellyMix told before Christmas how current host Bruce Forsyth is expected to retire from the show next year, at the age of 82 and following 8 series on the programme.

The insider added: "Vern's now the obvious option. Bosses want to revamp Strictly so it appeals to younger viewers while not alienating older fans. He fits the bill."
