There was a surprise bottom two in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing 2015 results.
Helen George and Aljaž Škorjanec became the tenth celebrity couple to depart the dance floor in the show having faced Georgia May Foote and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice in the dreaded dance off.
Both couples performed their routines again; Georgia and Giovanni performed their Foxtrot to ‘Beauty and the Beast’ from the show of the same name and Helen and Aljaz performed a Paso Doble to ‘At The End of The Day’ from Les Miserables in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After both couples had danced a second time the Judges delivered their verdicts.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “As far as I am concerned I think you are both even-stevens. Helen, you were absolutely fantastic, you rectified absolutely everything, but the couple I am going to save is Georgia and Giovanni.”
Darcey said: “Well, I wish I didn’t have to choose between you two, we have been so fortunate because you have produced some stunning dances both of you and I can only say the couple I would like to save is because they delivered technically and understood the style well and that was Georgia and Giovanni.”
Bruno said: “Well first I have to say both of your performances were wonderful, completely different, and extremely powerful in their own ways, both of you should not be here. But I have to choose the couple that added that extra polish and that extra finish, your lines sweetie darlings, Georgia and Giovanni, you got that perfectly.”
As Bruno agreed with Darcey and Craig, Georgia and Giovanni were safely through to next week. Head Judge Len Goodman said that he agreed with his colleagues’ decision.
Speaking to Tess Daly after her exit, Helen said, “I’ve just had the most amazing time, spending this time with Aljaž, he has been the most fantastic teacher but most of all friend, and also I am taking away a brilliant group of mates, who I want to see lots in the future and I love this!”
Aljaž added: “I absolutely loved every single week, you amazed me with the level of your professionalism, with the level of commitment to every single dance and it was a pure joy. Thank you so much.”
