Strictly Come Dancing's Ola Jordan has spoken of her "year of hell" after suffering a nasty injury last December.

The pro dancer hurt her leg while in training for Channel 4 series The Jump, ruling her out of competing in the show and almost unable to perform ever again.

“I cried and cried and cried," Ola recalled. "I didn’t know whether I could dance again after having an operation in January."

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "People made comments about my weight but I was recovering.

“Now, after hours of physio and gym work, I couldn’t be happier. My leg feels different but it doesn’t hurt and I’m dancing.

“I feel sexier than ever. Why shouldn’t I feel proud of my body?”

In the candid chat, Ola revealed she hoped to soon start a family with her husband, former Strictly pro James Jordan.

“I’m 33 now and I almost feel like I’ve left it too late already, but we would like one. We’re just not quite sure when to have one," she explained. “I don’t want to take the time out of dancing but at the same time I want to be around. Maybe James can be a house-husband.”

As for returning again to Strictly next year, it's all up in the air the moment.

Ola, who was first eliminated this year with celebrity partner Iwan Thomas, said: “I don’t know about Strictly yet. I don’t know whether I will do the Christmas special.

“I don’t know about the tour either, because with James not being in the show any more I will have to be away from him.”
