The Strictly Come Dancing 2015 contestants have been confirmed and here's a round of up just who's on the new series this autumn.
The BBC has been announcing new celebrities for the Strictly 2015 cast daily and now we have all fifteen confirmed celebrities for this autumn
Journalist, Author and Presenter Jeremy Vine is the first of this year's confirmed SCD celebs.
He said: “How could I say no to the biggest show in TV? Yes, yes, yes and yes again to the sequins and the Samba! Now I just need to find some dancing shoes and identify my left foot."
Chef and actor Ainsley Harriott became the second celeb confirmed, saying: "I must admit that I do love to dance, but doing it in front of the nation is a whole different matter! In my day job the only type of Salsa I know about is the one in my recipes so I am looking forward to rising to the challenge, bring it on!”
EastEnders actress Kellie was confirmed celeb number three: “There are two main reasons I want to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. The first is that as I will be turning 40 next year, I think it is the perfect time for a new, exciting challenge. The second reason is because if I said ‘no’ Linda Carter would never forgive me!” said Kellie.
Georgia May Foote
Actress Georgia May Foote is the fourth celebrity contestant to be confirmed for the brand new series. She said: “I am so excited to be part of Strictly 2015! It is something I have always wanted to take part in and now I just can’t wait to get started! I love dancing and I love a challenge so this is the perfect experience for me."
TV host Katie Derham was revealed as the fifth celebrity contestant on the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing line up.
She said: “Strictly Come Dancing is a national treasure, and I’m extremely excited to be part of a such a wonderful show.
“I spend hours admiring professional musicians and performers at the Proms and at BBC Radio 3, so I’m thrilled to have the chance to throw myself into an equally demanding and beautiful world.
Peter said: "I’ve always loved watching it on TV and to be honest I’m flattered to have been asked to take part before, but due to certain work commitments was unable to. I now feel the time is right to give it a go - everything has just clicked into place to do it this year. Wish me luck please…argh!!”
The BBC Weather presenter became the sixth confirmed star having been unveiled on BBC Breakfast.
“I am beyond excited to be taking part in the best programme on British telly and have been a huge fan since it started! I can't wait to learn to dance and hope my experience on Strictly will be a breeze, whether it will be or not is one forecast I cannot predict!” said Carol.
The Irish singer confirmed his participation on BBC Radio 2, saying: “Earlier this year, I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting, well what could be more exciting than Strictly Come Dancing?"
Boxer Anthony won bronze in the 2012 London Olympics before competing in ITV's Splash in 2013. He said: "I've faced a lot of tough opposition in the past, but I've never faced anyone as tough as the Strictly judges before! My Mum is a massive fan of the show so I will be trying my hardest to make her proud.”
The Wanted singer is set to exchange his microphone for some sequinned trousers. “My family are such huge Strictly fans, I know I've made them very happy by taking part - I can’t wait to get started! I love to dance but this is going to be so different from anything I have done before, I'm up for it!" said Jay.
Countryfile presenter Anita Rani is the eleventh confirmed celebrity for the new Strictly line up this autumn. She said: “So many elements of Strictly terrify me but I shall try and think #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat as I hit the dance floor. I'm so excited to indulge that fantasy and hopefully learn some mean moves in the process. Let's get our groove on!"
Singer and TV presenter Jamelia said: “My girls are huge fans of Strictly, but when I told them I was doing it they laughed as they know that dancing is not my forté! The girls are amazing dancers though so I definitely want to learn a new skill so that I'll be able to give them a run for their money, and end them teasing me once and for all!”
Call The Midwife actress Helen said: “I'm really excited to be joining Strictly. I know it's going to be a challenge and if I'm honest I'm slightly terrified, but I can't wait to get my tan and sequins on!”
"I used to do loads of ballet and tap but I've not danced in years, only at a wedding when I've had a couple of drinks," Kirsty said of joining the show. "It's very new to a lot of us."
The Olympic runner admitted: "I'm competitive, but you've got to have the skills to start with, we've been rehearsing for the past two days and I've got bruises in places you don't want to know. I'm a dad dancer, I'm really bad... I think the main competition is myself!"
Strictly Come Dancing starts later year on September 5 on BBC One.
