X Factor 2013 winner Sam Bailey has been dropped after just the one album.
Sam released her debut record last year and it sold surprisingly well, shifting over 70,000 copies in its first week to land at Number 1.
It was the first Number 1 album from an X Factor champ since Alexandra Burke in 2008 and was the second fastest selling album of 2014 by a female behind only Taylor Swift.
But despite that, Simon Cowell has dropped Sam after just over a year with his Syco label.
A spokesperson confirmed this weekend: "Sam Bailey is no longer with Syco.”
Bizarrely, Sam is still currently on tour with her record, hitting TellyMix's backyard in Brighton tonight with more dates lined up throughout the rest of February.
Sam said of her axe today: “I’m really grateful for everything X Factor has done for me. I’m going straight into a studio to write after the tour.
“I would also maybe like to get into acting and I would love to do Strictly Come Dancing.”
And she joked: “I’m happy I got my house extension — that’s what I entered the competition for.”
Very few acts from past X Factor series remain signed to Syco with One Direction and Little Mix two that have stayed with the label, while even the likes of Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke have parted ways.
Others still signed include Ella Henderson and more recently Fleur East and Tamera Foster, as well as 2014 winner Ben Haenow.
