Steve Backshall is said to be "desperate" to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing 2014.

It follows reports that he and pro partner Ola Jordan have been clashing behind the scenes.

It was claimed that Steve had complained to BBC bosses about Ola 'bullying' him to rehearses, although the pair had seemingly made up in an appearance together on It Takes Two last week.

The Daily Mirror newspaper now says that Wildlife presenter Steve is now keen leave the show with tensions still between him and Ola.

A show source told the tabloid: “Steve has been telling people he can’t wait to get back to the day job, he really isn’t enjoying himself and has been really troubled by the show process.

"He has spent years tackling wild animals but Ola is one tough cookie he cannot crack."

The supposed insider suggested: “In front of the camera and when they are out they act like friends but behind closed doors they still aren’t getting on.

“He can’t wait to get back to his adventures and do his own thing.”

Ola's husband and former Strictly pro James Jordan hit out at the previous reports, saying: ": “Smells of a plot to turn public against her so they can sack her, no one will fall for it.”
