Strictly Come Dancing 2014: Jake Wood is new favourite to win

Jake Wood is the new favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2014 after the first two live shows.

Before Strictly started no one really thought EastEnders hardman Jake Wood would have overtaken the likes of Frankie Bridge and Pixie Lott to be the favourite.

But after a saucy salsa saw him top the leaderboard on Saturday, he has.

The soap actor is now the 5/2 favourite to win SCD after his performances blew away the competition and judges over the past two weeks.

Former favourite Frankie Bridge from Saturdays is now down in second position at 10/3 followed by Pixie Lott, who like Jake also scored 35 points out of 40 at the weekend, at 7/2.

At the other end and Jennifer Gibney remains in pole position at 13/8 to be booted off come Sunday with Judy Murray hot on her heels at 15/8 to go.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power said, “Jake is surprising viewers and probably himself each week with his performances, but unless Jennifer has something spectacular up her sequined sleeves it looks like it’s time for her to go.”
