Gregg Wallace has become the first to be eliminated in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing 2014 results.

Yesterday evening saw all fifteen of the celebs dance for a second time before lines opened for the viewers to cast their vote for the first time this series.

When the viewer poll results were combined with the judges' marks, Mrs Browns Boy’s star Jennifer Gibney and professional partner Tristan MacManus and MasterChef Judge Gregg Wallace and his partner Aliona Vilani, became the first two couples to face the dance-off..

Both couples then performed their routines once again for the judges: Jennifer and Tristan did their Waltz to Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin and Gregg and Aliona performed their Charleston to ‘Hey Good Looking’ by Ray Charles.

Then each of the four judges chose to save one couple:

Craig chose to save Jennifer saying: “Both couples improved enormously but I have to save Jennifer and Tristan.”

Darcey chose to save Jennifer saying: “I enjoyed both performances, both deserved to stay, but the couple I am going to save is Jennifer and Tristan.”

Bruno chose to save Jennifer saying: “I have to go with the most accomplished couple this evening and that is Jennifer and Tristan.”

Head Judge Len Goodman concluded, “I would have agreed with my colleagues, it would have been unanimous.”

Reflecting back on the results of tonight’s show, Gregg said, “I have to say it is the most terrifying thing I have ever, ever done.

"What I really liked most of all was practice, coming in here [the studio] really scared me. If I come back again, can you just watch me while I practice?!

To his professional partner, Aliona, he said, “Thank you so much for your patience – you are a saint!”

Strictly Come Dancing continues next weekend on BBC One.
