Jake Wood has topped the Strictly Come Dancing 2014 leaderboard in tonight's results.

Thom and Iveta were first up, performing a Salsa to ‘Hot Hot Hot’ by Arrow and it allowed Thom to let go, winning him praise for his hips as he scored 25 points.

Jennifer however let nerves get the better of her as she and pro partner Tristan danced the Waltz, but was told she was "getting there" posting a score of 19 points, up one mark on last week.

Simon and Kristina's Tango left Craig Revel Horwood underwhelmed and meant they scored 26, down slightly on last week's Jive.

Gregg and Aliona put on the first Charleston of the series, dancing to ‘Hey Good Looking’ by Ray Charles but was branded by "awkward" by Craig.

Alison won praise from the judges for her character in her Foxtrot to ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’ by Etta James but the dance moves saw her score 22, down on last week's 26.

Jake and Janette then wowed the audience and even got Bruno and Darcy on their feet with their Salsa to ‘Mambo No 5’ by Lou Bega, scoring a huge total of 35 out of 40.

Judy and Anton put on a tennis themed performance as they danced the Cha Cha to ‘She’s a Lady’ by Tom Jones, scoring just 17 points with only a TWO from Craig.

Up next were Caroline and Pasha, putting on a "full on" Tango to ‘Blame’ by Calvin Harris and John Newman which impressed both the judges and her former Xtra Factor co host Olly Murs, who was in the audience to see Caroline score 29 points.

There was surprise from Tim and Natalie, who scored 23 points doing the Waltz to ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ while Sunetra and Brendan's Cha Cha to “Million Dollar Bill” by Whitney Houston got them 26 marks from the panel.

Mark struggled in training with his American Smooth put pulled it out of the bag on the night, putting a total of 27 points on the leaderboard up from last weekend's 24.

After being left bottom of the leaderboard last week, Scott and Joanne's Tango to ‘Stop!’ by the Spice Girls got them 20 points out of 40.

From bottom of the scoreboard to the top next, as Pixie and Trent matched Jake's top score of the night so far with 35 points for their Waltz to ‘Come Away With Me’ by Norah Jones.

Steve followed as he unleashed his "inner dancing Queen", dancing Cha Cha to ‘Treasure’ by Bruno Mars with Ola, scoring 21 points, five fewer than his Week One dance.

Closing the show were Frankie and Kevin with a Charleston to the Happy Days theme to score 30 points.

The scores tonight were the combined with each of the pair's marks from Week 1 to create a new overall leaderboard.

Jake came out on top followed by Pixie and Frankie but at the other end, Judy, Scott and Gregg were left in danger at the bottom.

However, those aren't the final results with the judges' marks being combined with the viewer votes to leave a bottom two who will have to dance again on Sunday evening.

Strictly Come Dancing continues with the first results show tomorrow night.
